Hugh Hefner is dead, but his legacy lives on. Under the facade of the ‘bon-vivant’ playboy man about town, I believe he leaves a legacy of porn addiction, female abuse and men with holes in their heart. But, he left a legacy.
Beneath the veneer of a playboy was the spirit of a predator. What a man does in life becomes history, but what he puts into motion becomes his legacy.
What a man does in life becomes history, but what he puts into motion becomes his legacy.
If you’re moving forward, obstacles will appear. If you want a life without obstacles or without a fight…stand silently in the shadows…but they’ll still find you. If you’re never criticized, your dreams are too small.
President Teddy Roosevelt said it this way: “Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”
A smack in the face will stop most men, but it comes with pursuing the dream. My friend Big Tommy Sirotnak used to say, “If you’re on a road that has no obstacles, you’re on the wrong road!” Tenacity will power a man through the hits and criticisms.
You and I must work to leave a legacy of faith, honor and courage. Biblical masculinity that does the work.
What kind of legacy are we leaving our culture? What will we leave for those behind us?
Hugh Hefner is why Godly men must raise up a new generation of men that define manhood as Christlikeness, view women as joint heirs in Christ and embrace character and honor as worthy goals. Fathers who disciple their children, give their daughters value and their sons moral
strength - men who hug their kids.
This is why we need men like you with us at Lions Roar 2017 in Fort Worth. The theme is LEGACY and the purpose is a cultural revolution.
While I do pray for peace and God’s grace to comfort Mr. Hefner’s family and loved ones - we must not let those men of permissive morals to be the legacy we leave behind in this world. You and I must work to leave a legacy of faith, honor and courage. Biblical masculinity that does the work.
