Dreams Take Work

Faith in God is the foundation for a successful life. Faith gives power to our dreams. Then we have to go to work. James wrote, “Faith without works is dead.” You may have dreams, but they will not happen unless you work.

The universe is not arrayed to work in your favor. The world will always conspire with your enemy, the devil, to destroy you. Victory is always on the other side of the fight. Faith gets up and works. And endurance never lets go. A man with a dream will not let go of that dream - no matter the pain, persecution or price.

A man with a dream will not let go of that dream - no matter the pain, persecution or price.

If you’re moving forward, obstacles will appear. If you want a life without obstacles or without a fight…stand silently in the shadows…but they’ll still find you. If you’re never criticized, your dreams are too small.

President Teddy Roosevelt said it this way: “Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”

A smack in the face will stop most men, but it comes with pursuing the dream. My friend Big Tommy Sirotnak used to say, “If you’re on a road that has no obstacles, you’re on the wrong road!” Tenacity will power a man through the hits and criticisms.

No one else will hold on to your dream for you - that's your responsibility - hold on tight. And don't let go.

No one else will hold on to your dream for you - that's your responsibility - hold on tight. And don't let go. It's not easy, but nothing good that happens in life is easy. If you want easy, go play on the beach. You won't reach your dreams, but it will be easy.

Paul wrote in Hebrews, “What you really want you don’t get, because you lack endurance.” He said to "Hold tightly...to hope." And, that's what pursuing a dream takes. Holding on tight - being filled with hope - willing to work and sacrifice. Tenacity, boldness, endurance, sweat - nothing happens without that.
